Ancient Near Eastern conical button stamp seal, dating back to the Late Neolithic to Early Bronze Age (circa 5th–3rd Millennium BC.
- The Seal Form: The first image shows a prominent dome-shaped (or button/hemispheroid) back featuring a wide, cleanly drilled suspension hole. This allowed the owner to thread a leather cord or twine through it, allowing it to be worn safely as an amuletic pendant or ring.
- The Intaglio Design: The engraved face shown in the second image features a deeply incised, starkly geometric pattern. It forms a central four-spoke or five-spoke star variant flanked by stylized outer triangular chevrons. This exact family of non-figurative geometric linear designs is the characteristic signature of Ubaid, Halaf, or early Anatolian Bronze Age cultures.
